What happens in a Life Coaching Session? What Do Coaches Do?
You do a lot of talking! Your coach asks lots of questions! Each session is customized to you as an individual varies based on the your needs. In the beginning, we often discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together. You will often take assessments to help you identify where you are and where you want to be. You will do a lot of reflecting....and we will begin to create a plan to achieve your goals. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help direct your progress. We will work together to identify obstacles, explore alternate ways to frame your perceptions and thinking. Tothether we will celebrate your successes. With the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to achieve these results.
What Happens Between Coaching Sessions?
That is where the magic of coaching happens! You, the client, are not disconnected from your coach between coaching sesssions because of the special way that Positive Changes Coaching works. You reflect in your online journal along the way and you have unlimited interactions with your coach through the online coaching process.
Do I really need a personal Coach, can't I just do it by myself?
Certainly you can do it by yourself! I completely believe in the power of self-coaching. But life coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations. And we all have them! More often than not, people know what their greatest potential is, and struggle to achieve it, but they don’t have a clue about what stands in their way. We are all blind to ourselves in so many ways!
As a Life Coach I offer an unbiased and objective perspective. And I am pretty tough and with your permission, can help you realize your patterns and habits that interfere with your achievement. Most people experience that they are more efficient when working with a Professional Life Coach and that this provides the opportunity for them to better realize their potential. Life coaching can make your dreams attainable and will give you support and encouragement along the way.
How is Coaching different from Therapy?
While the life coaching I provide can be quite therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not designed to address psychological issues I do not have the intention to "fix" you. Emotional issues often arise in coaching sessions. But the primary focus of life coaching is to help you identify those emotions and your thinking and your goals, and how all those components of your who work together to help you achieve what is important to you in your life. Life coaching is a process that helps you develop constructive habits and skills, not only in your actions but also in your thinking and your emotions. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching. Instead, the focus is on creating what you want now and in the future.
How long do people generally work with a Life Coach?
To experience the effectiveness of a life coaching program, I suggest clients start out with three-month commitment. At the end of the three months, we will evaluate progress and discuss options for continued coaching.
Is personal life coaching confidential?
What we discuss in our sessions will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, life coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will always be protected.
What is your cancellation policy?
I request a 24 hour notice to cancel all sessions. Please be sure to contact me if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.
